A bar and restaurant in Ventura, CA, may have a ghost on their hands.
Cronies Bar uploaded two videos on Facebook depicting furniture in their eatery moving on its own.
The surveillance videotapes show two incidents where a chair moves without anyone touching it- once after hours of a chair toppling over by itself and another during business hours where a different chair tilts up and down. In the second video, a family who spots the moving chair goes over to analyse the strange event.
The Cronies owneds say it’s not part of any Halloween stunt, and claimed responsibility for just as confused as their patrons.
“For this to happen it’s pretty creepy, ” Cronies co-owner, Dave Foldes, told CBS2 .
Foldes said he started Crony nearly three decades ago as a place for friends to gather and hang out.
“It’s just really weird. We’ve been here 27 years nothing weird like this has ever happened, ” Foldes said.
Customers don’t seem to be frightened by the potential haunting, instead calling the event “funny” and “interesting.”
“I’m okay until it’s my chair that moves, ” a customer told CBS2.
Another customer, Juan Munoz said, “So many people come here and go, so…maybe it’s haunted.”
“We have a lot of good spirit here, I like to think, ” Foldes said, referring to the photos that encompasses the walls of restaurant customers and employees who have passed on.
Though, Foldes does have a scapegoat- or scape ghost – two men who are applied to frequent the bar often.
“Ralph and Don. They were our first originals. They actually introduced me to my wife. And they died 25 years ago, ” Foldes says. “Whenever something funny happens, we blame it on them.”
No word yet on other spooky happenings- or if the whole thing will mysteriously stop once the season changes.
